I don’t know if it makes sense posting photos after more than two months of my laziness and not “wishing” to do this. Don’t get me wrong, I love uploading photos in this world of mine and creating stories in which I am the only one who enjoys (as I don’t have lots of followers or secret admirers :)), but it takes too much effort doing it even though in the end I’m happy I’ve done it. Anyway, as I need to reinstall Windows on my computer (don’t ask, I hate it!) and I need to remove all the data, I think that’s good enough reason for me to make this story.
Don’t think reinstalling Windows is the only reason I am doing this. I have lots to show to you and this blog is my diary of all the memories so this trip has to have its own five minutes of glory. Oslo is an amazing city! I loved it. I would say something like: “I’ll definitely go back!”. But, that will be manageable only when I become rich and a proper Millionaire. 😀 It’s bloody expensive! When I say expensive I mean even drinking water was pure luxury 😀 So, if you skip that first impression and just forget about it, Oslo looks and is fantastic.
Where to start… It’s by the sea. I think that’s a pretty important fact and gives couple of more stars to the city!!! It’s full of amazing contemporary designed buildings, but also has very nice examples of classical and modern architecture. I will just say one word: Opera! Beside this masterpiece (which is WOW!), in this city you can also find examples of Renzo Piano design, famous MVRDV, see Barcode Project and enjoy some really high quality architecture and design.
It has amazing museums! From National Gallery to museums with old and preserved viking ships, you have so much to see, enjoy and it’s really impressive. I must say, I was like a kid in a candy store. I loved all the museums which we’ve visited and didn’t regret it one second. I’ve learned so much about Norwegian culture and history just by walking through museums and being curious. And when I had the opportunity to actually enter one of the ships! Omg, that was so awesome!
Oslo is full of nice urban fragments and spaces which make it rich and pretty. It has lots of parks, green areas and even a park which contains sculpture installation all designed and created by one sculptor Gustav Vigeland between 1924 and 1943. Impressive? Yes I think so! Did I say amazing? Yes, but I will say once again! Amazing! What can I say when there is even a famous ski jump center, since 1892… So, visit Oslo, definitely! It has lots to offer and is a nice holiday destination.
I was speechless, impressed and overwhelmed with everything I saw.
